Emely is a young Latina with a passion for technology. After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a BA in Creative Computation and Computer Science, she began her career with AT&T in 2017 in the Technology Development Program. Starting in 2018 Emely was able to further her education while working thanks to AT&T's employee tuition aid program, and up until graduating in 2020 she studied in the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Online Master of Science in Computer Science program. Now she's working as a Lead Software Engineer in the AT&T's Chief Information Office department, where she continues to develop herself as a leader and strives to help her community.

Emely first connected with HACEMOS back in her senior year of high school after having won the Dallas Chapter HACEMOS scholarship. She went on to win the scholarship all four years of her undergraduate career, which strengthened her desire to give back. Now as a full-time AT&T employee and active member of HACEMOS, Emely has worked to give other Latinos a chance to reach their aspirations.

Emely combines her love of technology and volunteering to inspire Latino youth to consider a future in STEM. She has volunteered and spoken as a panelist at High Technology Day, served as the lead facilitator for the HACEMOS IoT workshop, and coordinated STEM workshops with volunteers from Technology Development. Emely has also spoken out in various opportunities about the work HACEMOS and AT&T has done for helping the Latino community, including videos and an interview with Latinos Leaders magazine.

In 2018, she served as AT&T's representative for TECHNOLOchicas, a national initiative of the National Center for Women & Information Technology and Televisa Foundation to raise awareness among young Latinas about opportunities in technology. As an ambassador of the 3.0 campaign, Emely traveled to different AT&T locations across the nation to lead tech workshops and speak at panels to show the girls what a Latina in STEM can do. In December 2019 Emely officially passed her role to the 4.0 campaign representative but continues to be an active TECHNOLOchicas ambassador. Likewise, Emely continues to be an active member of HACEMOS. She is currently serving as President of the Dallas chapter, where she continues to help grow the scholarship foundation so that students just like herself can also fulfill their dreams.
